What we collect
- Email address (via Firebase Auth)
- Family name and profile information
- Approximate location (neighbourhood level only — never precise GPS)
- Profile photo (optional)
- Messages sent between connected families
- Device ID for push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- Report and block actions (when a user reports or blocks another family)
Messages and Chat
Messages sent between families on Parentsi are stored securely on Firebase servers. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Parentsi may access messages for safety and moderation purposes. We will never share your messages with third parties.
What we do NOT collect
- Precise GPS coordinates are never stored or shared with other users
- We never sell your data to third parties
- No advertising tracking of any kind
How we use your data
- To create and manage your account
- To show your profile to nearby families
- To enable chat between connected families
- To send push notifications about new connections and messages
- To send a welcome email via Brevo
Third-party services
Data retention
Your data is stored for as long as you have an active account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, messages, and connections within 30 days. You can delete your account from the Profile tab in the app, or by emailing us.
Your rights (GDPR)
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us
Children
Parentsi is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
